Dr. Corine Selders, DVM, CVA, CVMMP, is a graduate of Colorado State University’s veterinary school at the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Science and completed a post-doc in the equine surgery department.
After her post-doc, Dr. Selders interned at the highly regarded Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center in Los Olivos, CA (near Santa Barbara), where she attained experience in internal medicine and ICU, surgery, lameness diagnosis, and imaging (digital radiology and ultrasound, nuclear scintigraphy, and CT). Once Dr. Selders completed the internship in 2003, she was hired by the East County Large Animal Practice in El Cajon, CA.
In February 2007, Dr. Selders took the plunge and started her own practice, Cedar Creek Equine Veterinary Practice, Inc. During this time period, Dr. Selders began to expand her knowledge and pursued holistic education and added holistic services to the practice after her own horse, Isis, required answers that Western medicine could not provide.
Dr. Selders is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture, Advanced Acupuncture & Topographic Acupuncture, Veterinary Medical Manipulation (veterinary chiropractic) & Advanced Medical Manipulation, as well as Equine Rehabilitation and Performance Medicine. Dr. Selders has also taken courses in Homeopathy and regularly continues her education on the subject.
In April 2020, Dr. Selders changed the name of the practice to Cedar Creek Holistic Veterinary Practice to reflect the change in primary focus to holistic medicine and to acknowledge the small companion animals that were already being served.
In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Selders enjoys writing articles and giving presentations on veterinary topics. She speaks at veterinary conferences and given several talks locally on pertinent subjects such as equine emergencies, foaling, and Dryland Distemper.
On a personal note, Dr. Corine Selders lives in Ramona with her husband and two daughters. Dr. Selders enjoys Dressage and trail riding when she has the time. Her oldest daughter caught the horse bug and competes at the FEI level in eventing. Her youngest daughter thoroughly enjoys the smaller fur babies. Current fur family members include three dogs, three cats, and four horses.
